Pro-active interaction with sound to stimulate innate emotional awareness

Soundscape therapy offers a way for anybody to ‘make’ music and reap the emotional rewards of actively participating in creating sound.

By working with the Lydian Mindharp™ anybody can make music and quickly access pathways to reducing stress and generally enhancing our sense of well being.

A very little background:

We are all born with a ‘music’ center in our brain; neural pathways that react almost exclusively to the sound of music. A recent empirical study at M.I.T (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) confirmed this fact in 2015 .The new paper “takes a very innovative approach and is of great importance,” said Josef Rauschecker, director of the Laboratory of Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition at Georgetown University.

So it seems that our brain defines a sound as either environmental; cars, machine noises, water flushing etc or as ‘musical’.

When we actively participate in creating ‘musical’ sound we trigger emotional responses impacting positively on our stress levels and feeling of positive goodwill towards others and ourselves.

Soundscape therapy combines these understandings with mindfulness and meditation to create pro-active mindfulness.

Working with sound is a basic human need. Soundscape therapy makes it possible for anybody to ‘make’ music and improve their quality of life.
